Cairns newest tourism vessel

Cairns newest tourism vessel has quietly emerged from its factory in Cairns for final prep work before launching and survey. Proudly built in Cairns by BME NQ Fabrications along with a host of supportive trade businesses, the new vessel, called Pure Snorkeling will offer half day reef trips, charters and twilight cruises. Seating 40, and with 4 x 350hp V10 outboards, she should be fast!.

The vessel is the culmination of a business idea between two Cairns local businesses: Passions of Paradise and Ocean Free/Freedom. Sharing a joint permit which included 15 outer reef moorings, they decided to build a boat that targeted a missing link in the local tourism scene. Small numbers, fast, outer reef locations, to appeal to those short on time. Same great reefs as a day trip, but without having to commit to a full day. Alan Wallish from ‘Passions’ and Perry and Taryn Jones from ‘Ocean Freedom’ are looking forward to the new venture. This was truly a local effort. “Cairns built, to operate in Cairns, by two Cairns local businesses”, said Alan.
