SafeWork NSW has recently announced a new requirement for divers undertaking general diving work for recreational diver training or recreational dive tours in New South Wales (NSW).
Dive tour operators, dive leaders and instructors holding ISO-based recreational dive leader and dive supervisor qualifications must successfully complete and hold a Statement of Attainment for BSBWHS211 Contribute to the health and safety of self and others before the 1st of January 2023.
Several Registered Training Organisations (PADI, ADAS) provide this unit of competency through online learning. (Check with your training agency)
If you don’t complete the course before the 31st of December 2022, you will no longer be able to legally do general diving work until you have completed the course.
